As of 2024, BOE had independently filed more than 100,000 patent applications. Of the new patent applications in the year, over 90 percent were patents for inventions and above 33 percent were filed overseas, covering the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and more. According to IFI CLAIMS Patent Services’ ranking of Top 50 US Patent Assignees 2024, BOE came in 12th, making into the top 20 for seven consecutive years. On the 2024 international patent application ranking published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), it stayed among the top 10 with 1,959 PCT patent applications for the ninth straight year.
