    发布时间:2023-10-24

On October 24, 2023, BOE held a launch ceremony for its X1 display and a ceremony celebrating the 100 millionth OLED display at Chongqing BOE Display Technology Co., Ltd. The X1 is considered BOE’s most impressive flexible display yet and will power OPPO’s upcoming OnePlus flagship phones. This is a testament to BOE’s endeavor to build the “Powered by BOE” innovation ecosystem and usher in a new era of smart devices in diverse forms together with its partners. At the same time, BOE also announced that its 100 millionth flexible OLED display in 2023 has rolled off the line. This new record marks a new milestone and represents a quantum leap in China’s flexible display industry.

At the launch ceremony, Yang Guobo, Senior Vice President of BOE, and Duan Yaohui, Vice President of OPPO and President of the Mobile Phone Product Line, delivered remarks. Qiu Haijun, Senior Vice President of BOE, and Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, gave keynote speeches. Yang Guobo said, “As a global leader in the semiconductor display industry, BOE has been beefing up its R&D capacity, technical strength, and product applications in the flexible display field, pushing the limits of flexible OLED displays for consumer electronics. The X1 launched today is a landmark flexible display and a new starting point for BOE. It is the result of BOE’s commitment to meeting consumer needs, engaging in collaborative innovation with its partners, and leading the way in the innovative development of the flexible display industry. In the future, BOE will continue exploring new flexible display solutions and pioneering myriad forms of smart devices.”

Noting that a phone screen is crucial to user experience, Duan Yaohui said that OPPO aims to deliver optimal screen performance to users. BOE is a global leader in the semiconductor display industry and ranks No. 1 in the world by display shipments, boasting unrivaled strength in China’s display industry. OPPO is a leading innovator in smart devices that upholds the brand mission – “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World” in parallel with seeking technological breakthroughs. The X1 is an unmatched phone screen born out of two years of collaboration. It will be first used in the OnePlus 12, a new generation of high-end flagship phone by OnePlus, which will bring an optimal screen experience to users.

The X1 released by BOE at the event is a world-leading 2K UHD flexible OLED display and the product of collaborative innovation between BOE and OPPO. The X1 is packed with upgrades such as ultrahigh resolution, ultrahigh brightness, and ultra-slim bezels, and will make its debut on the OnePlus 12. The X1 is armed with BOE’s independently developed new-generation LTPO pixel driver circuit and electroluminescent (EL) device. The upgraded pixel driver circuit enables more stable switch between higher and lower refresh rates. When higher frame rate content is displayed, the screen will immediately switch to a higher refresh rate, which reduces smear and gives users a smooth experience. Regarding image quality, the 2K UHD display, the highest of its kind in China, features a resolution of 3168×1440 and peak brightness of over 2,600 nits, producing clear, exquisite, and true-to-life images. In terms of process design, the bezel on the bottom of the screen is decreased to 1.165mm, the slimmest of its kind, which creates an even more immersive and amazing flexible display experience for users. The flexible OLED display also excels in eye care. It adopts the width modulation (PWM) dimming technique at an ultrahigh frequency of 2,160Hz, which can minimize the potential damage of flicker to the eyes in dark light. The ratio of harmful blue light is kept below 6%, giving users peace of mind when enjoying the high image quality.

BOE is China’s first technology company to break into the flexible OLED field, and tops its peers in terms of technology and applications, leading China’s flexible OLED industry to gain a strong foothold in the international arena. Furthermore, BOE has launched the first technology brand in China’s display industry, prompting the industry to shift from pursuit of scale to a value-oriented development path. BOE has constantly broken new ground in the flexible OLED market. Its 100 millionth flexible OLED display in 2023 has just rolled off the line, and tens of millions of foldable displays have been shipped in total. Additionally, BOE has stayed No. 1 in China and No. 2 in the world by flexible OLED display shipments for years, according to data from Omdia.

In keeping with technological advances and market demand, multimodal, lightweight, and highly integrated mobile devices are now on trend. BOE, a global leader in the semiconductor display industry, has been dedicated to the R&D of flexible display technology over the years, leading the way in market, technology, smart manufacturing, and other fields. Up to now, BOE has rolled out a plethora of multimodal flexible displays such as curved display, full-screen display, out-folding display, in-folding display, display that folds up to 360 degrees, slidable display, and roll-up display, opening up new vistas for flexible display. Through continuous innovation, BOE has pioneered the LTPO technology and PWM dimming technique at an ultrahigh frequency, and realized smart technology solutions integrating such features as under-display camera, under-display fingerprint recognition, and 3D touch. Its cutting-edge flexible display solutions have been widely used on high-end flagship models of leading brands at home and abroad, covering a clientele of 45+ top global consumer brands.

The pattern of the global display industry is always evolving. BOE has grown from a pioneer in China’s flexible OLED industry to a technology trendsetter, and is now accelerating itself into a setter of industry standards and a leader in industrial development. Building on its achievements in the last 30 years, BOE will continue to bring rich-featured displays in diverse forms to a wider range of scenarios, conduct extensive and in-depth cooperation with ecosystem partners in such areas as technology, product, market, and business model innovation, and capitalize on abundant industrial resources to constantly empower its partners and push China’s display industry to the next level.
