           In the visible light spectrum, harmful blue light from electronic devices is a major threat to eye health. In response, BOE uses the peak redshift technology for LED backlight and blue light peak redshift technology OLED for devices to effectively filter harmful blue light with a wavelength between 415nm and 455nm. This drastically reduces the proportion of harmful blue light from screens to less than 6%, which is far lower than the industry standard. BOE’s flexible OLED low blue light technology distinguishes from similar technologies in that it can achieve low blue light in the entire color temperature scale to minimize damage to the eyes while delivering true-to-life colors and optimal display quality with no color deviation and decline in color gamut coverage.
           ADS Pro, BOE’s homebrew high-end LCD display solution, produces exceptional effects in natural light. Proper ambient light levels are necessary when people use display devices, which would otherwise cause eye strain and tears. Ambient contrast ratio (ACR) refers to the contrast ratio of display devices tested in common indoor lighting, and the reflectivity of screen surface is a key determinant of ACR. UB Cell, a poster child of ADS Pro solutions, slashes the reflectivity from the conventional 5% to 1.1% through a variety of technologies such as surface treatment, pixel structure optimization, and the use of new materials in liquid crystal cells. This greatly improves the eye comfort of customers using display devices in natural light.
           Flicker in dim lighting may stimulate eye movement and cause eye discomfort, and the pulse width modulation (PWM) frequency that poses low risk of harm to human health should be above 1,250Hz. To minimize the potential harm of flicker to the eyes, BOE has pioneered in the ultra-high frequency PWM dimming technology with a frequency of up to 4,320Hz, which is far beyond the maximum frequency of flicker that can be detected by human eyes.
           BOE’s Gen 2 non-destructive gamma display technology is backed by two patents (patent No.: ZL 2016 10214546.6 and ZL 2019 1 0389905.5), capable of delivering impressive contrast in different ambient lighting conditions. Using BOE’s patented paperlike eye care technology to accurately restore 256 shades of gray between black and white, the technology enables the screens to achieve a paperlike sensation. Furthermore, the grayscale is precisely adjusted according to ambient light to enhance visual comfort with more accurate and layered colors, so the eyes feel comfortable just like reading books.
           BOE has also launched a range of optical technologies to protect the eyes in near vision scenarios. By increasing scattered particles, BOE’s natural light display technology converts the linearly polarized light emitted from LCDs into uniformly scattered non-polarized light, giving a softer light to reduce eye fatigue and dry eye symptoms. BOE’s freeform surface optical technology can amplify images 3 to 10 meters away to 60 to 140 inches at high definition without changing the physical distance, which allows users to view from a greater distance to better protect their eyes.

The HONOR Magic6 RSR Porsche Design flagship phone is armed with BOE’s first-of-its-kind tandem OLED solution and 4,320Hz PWM dimming mode, which significantly reduces the potential harm to the eyes in dim lighting and gives users an optimal eye-friendly viewing experience at night. Displays are also ubiquitous in office scenarios. The Lenovo UHD Mini LED monitor backed by BOE’s COG AM technology features a 31.5-inch screen and 1,152 partitions for precise light control, which can prevent potential eye damage caused by instantaneous ultrahigh brightness and flicker as with passive matrix. The ROG Strix 8 Plus Super OC Edition is empowered by BOE’s high-frequency PWM dimming technology, hardware low blue light technology, and ADS Pro solution. The eye-friendly gaming laptop achieves 60–240Hz refresh rate dynamic frequency modulation and fast response within 3ms, giving users an awe-inspiring eye care experience.
           BOE has rolled out a wealth of eye-friendly products and solutions to let its eye care technology benefit more consumers. The A1S student tablet released by BOE Art Cloud, a subsidiary of BOE, is equipped with the H629 natural light display, which can effectively reduce eye fatigue by 24% as clinically certified by Beijing Tongren Hospital, CME. Its built-in eye chart can match appropriate testing methods with different scenarios, for example, at home. Personalized vision files can be established for users to facilitate eye health management. Additionally, the tablet has obtained the SGS Eye Guard A+ certification. In the field of smart engineering medicine, BOE’s anti-myopia screen for students uses AR freeform surface technology to simulate far-gazing scenarios, so the children can clearly see a large screen image 10 meters away when they are physically 40–50cm away from the screen. This helps prevent potential eye problems and better protect the eyes of the children in near vision scenarios.
